Week of December 8th

 7th grade Math
Students will be working with percent problems solving for the part, whole or percent. There will be a quiz early next week. Then we will be solving real life percent equations solving for such things as commission, mark-up, and percent of change.

 Accelerated Math
Students are working with rational numbers adding and subtracting rational fractions and decimals this week. The quiz over addition and subtraction of rational numbers will be at the end of the week. The test over rational numbers will be the week of December 15th students will get a study guide before the test.

Week of December 1st

7th grade Math
Students will be performance testing Monday and Tuesday this week.    
We will still be applying percent to ever day life situations.  Students will be solving for the part, whole or percent. There will be a quiz early next week.

Accelerated Math
Students will be performance testing Monday and Tuesday this week.    
Students will start addition and subtractions of rational numbers this week. The quiz over addition and subtraction of rational numbers will be early next week. The test over rational numbers will be the week of December 15th; they will get a study guide before the test.

Week of November 24th

7th grade Math

Students are finishing multiplication and division of rational numbers this week we will have a quiz on Tuesday. Next week we will be looking at addition and subtraction of rational decimals and fractions. Students will be performance testing next week.

Week of November 17th

 7th grade Math
Students are solving percent problems they will be able to solve for the part, whole or percent. Last week we learned how to solve for the percent of a number. This week we will be working on solving for the part, percent  or the whole, use the equation Whole x Percent = Part  
They will have a quiz at the end of the week. 

 Accelerated Math
Students are studying rational numbers this week they will multiply and divide rational decimals and fractions. They will evaluate algebraic expressions with rational numbers. They will have a quiz over conversions of a number between an improper fraction, fraction, decimal and a percent on Wednesday November 19th.

 7th grade Math

Students are studying rational numbers they will identify and classify rational numbers. We will be comparing decimal and fractions. They will evaluate algebraic expressions with rational numbers. Expect a quiz late next week.

Week of November 3rd

7th grade Math
We are still working with converting between fractions, decimals and percents. Then will move on to solving percent problems.  Students will be solving for the part, whole or percent. The equation used will be
whole x percent = part.
The quiz over conversions will be Friday November 7th   

Accelerated Math
This week we are finishing integers the quiz over multiplication and division is Wednesday November 5th. The test over integers will be Friday November 7th. Students need to complete a study guides before each assessment.

Week of October 27th

7th grade Math
We are will be working on percent problems for the next few weeks. We will start by converting between fractions, decimals and percents. Then will move on to solving percent problems.  Students will be solving for the part, whole or percent. The equation used will be

Parent Teacher Conferences

Monday October 27th and Wednesday October 29th we will be having parent teacher conferences Monday from 3p.m. to 7 p.m. And Wednesday from 3 p.m. till 5 p.m. if you would like to schedule an appointment please calls the office.

We are finishing how two objects are proportional. We have identifying proportional relationships by graphing.  We are solving problems using cross products. Students will have a quiz Wednesday October 22nd. We will start studying percents.    

Accelerated Math
This week students will be solving equations with rational numbers. The main emphasis will be on the multiplication and division of numbers involving positive and negative number. Integers and decimal values will be included in the exploration of numbers. There will be a Wednesday October 22nd over addition and subtraction of rational numbers.  

Report Cards were sent home On Friday October 17th please sign and returned A.S.A.P no later than Wednesday October 22nd.  
A note or email from is also acceptable saying your parent/guardian have seen the progress report. Please return to your 7th period teacher.

We are working on solving rate problems showing how two objects are proportional. There will be a quiz on Thursday September 25th over rates. We will continue to apply proportional thinking to complex fractions and conversion rates.

Accelerated Math
Fractions are the main emphasis of study the next few weeks. We are starting addition and subtraction of fractions. Students should be ready for a quiz over addition and subtraction of fractions by the beginning of next week.

We are working on order of operations. There will be a quiz at the end of the week. We will be handing out books and will start Chapter 1 Ratios and proportional Reasoning.


Accelerated Math
We will be reviewing order of operations this week. Expect a quiz this week over GCF, LCM and order of operations. We will be handing out books and will start Chapter 1 The Language of Algebra.

We are applying divisibility rules to prime factorization. Students should expect a quiz end of the week over divisibility rules and prime factorization. New concepts in the next two weeks will be order of operations, and rational numbers. Open House is Thursday, Sept. 11th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

In math we are working on determining if a number is divisible by another number according to divisibility rules. We will then review prime factorization and exponents. We will have a quiz on Thursday. The next concepts we will be studying will be order of operations and rational numbers.

We are working on defining number sets. After we define the number sets we will create Venn diagrams showing the relationship between number sets. We will be reviewing divisibility rules and prime numbers. Students should expect a quiz early next week over number sets and divisibility rules.

Welcome back to school. This week we will be going over class expectations and procedures. We will set up our folders and introducing the layout of our math book. As a class we will be looking at the Learning Process and the role the teacher and student play in the acquisition of knowledge. We will go over grading procedures and how to achieve the grade we would like to obtain.
