We are learning how to solve one step equations and how they apply to fractions, decimals and integers. We will have a quiz this week

This week we are still working with one step equations and how they apply to fractions, decimals and integers.  We will have a quiz this week .Students will start working with multi-step equations where they will have to combine like terms and apply distributive property.

Week of April 27th

7th grade Math
We are working with integers this week reviewing multiplication and division of integers. A quiz over multiplication and division will be at the end of the week.

Accelerated Math

Students are finishing percent problems this week.  We are applying percent concepts to solving real life situations. Quiz over percent of change today. Quiz over simple interest and compound interest later this week.     

 

Week of April 20th

7th grade Math
If you have not finished any parts of the fraction unit you have can still get credit you need to put in extra time outside class see me. We are working with integers this week reviewing addition and subtraction of integers. A quiz over addition and subtraction on Wednesday we will continue with multiply and divide rules the rest of the week. Quiz over multiplication and division early next week.

Accelerated Math

Students will are solving percent problems they should be able to solve for the part, whole or percents use the equation Whole x Percent = Part. We will apply this concept to solving real life percent equations solving for such things as commission, mark-up, and percent of change, simple interest and compound interest. You have a quiz over mark-up and discount Tuesday.   

 

Week of April 13th

We have finished fractions and mixed numbers last week. If you have not finished any parts of the fraction unit you have 1 week to complete to get credit you need to put in some extra time outside class.  We are working with integers this week reviewing addition and subtraction of integers. Expect a quiz at the end of the week. We will introduce multiply and divide rules this week.

Week of April 6th

 7th grade Math
We are taking the quiz over multiplication and division of fractions and mixed numbers this week. If they have not finished the quiz over addition, subtraction, or multiplication of fractions and mixed numbers they will need to put in some extra time outside class.  We will start integers this week in the unit they will learn about opposites, absolute value and how to add subtract multiply and divide integers and rational numbers.

We are on division of fractions and mixed numbers. If students have not finished the quiz over addition, subtraction, or multiplication of fractions and mixed numbers they will need to put in some extra time outside class. They will take the quiz over division of fractions and mixed numbers this week. The next unit will be integers.

Students are taking the test over rates, ratios, and proportions today.
Next unit students will be solving percent problems they will be able to solve for the part or the whole or the percents use the equation
Whole x Percent = Part. They will have a quiz at the end of next week.

We are comparing similar figures, finding indirect measurements using proportions and scale drawings. They will have a test at the end of the week over rate, ratios, and proportions they should finish the study guide before taking the test.

Students are adding and subtracting unlike fractions and mixed numbers. Expect a quiz by the end of the week or early next week over addition and subtraction of fractions and mixed numbers. The next sections will be multiplication and division of fractions and mixed numbers.  

Accelerated Math

We are working with ratio and rates and rate units they have a quiz Tuesday. We will continue working with ratios and rate and include proportions in real life problems. They will also compare similar figures and look at scale drawings.

Week of February 9th

7th grade Math
Never fear fractions are here yes we are starting fractions, students will be adding and subtracting like fractions and mixed numbers. Then we will be work with adding and subtracting unlike fractions and mixed numbers. Expect a quiz early next week over addition and subtraction of fractions and mixed numbers. The next sections will be multiplication and division of fractions and mixed numbers.

Accelerated Math
We are finishing exponents the test is today. We have stared ratio and rates and rate units we will continue working with them and include proportions in real life problems. Expect a quiz next week over ratio, rates and rate units.

Week of February 2nd

We will be finishing percents this week students will get a study guide to complete before the test. The test will be Thursday, February 5th.

The next unit will be fractions. . 

Accelerated Math

We will be finishing the exponents unit this week. Students will have a quiz Tuesday, February 3rd over scientific notation and will get a study guide for the unit test. The test will be Monday, February 10th. The next unit will be over ratio, proportions and similar figures.

Week of January 26th

Students are solving real life percent equations for discount, markdown and simple interest. We will have a quiz Thursday January 29th. The percent unit test will be the week of February 2nd. Students will get a study guide before the test.  

Accelerated Math

We will be finishing the exponents unit this week. Students will be writing numbers in scientific notation and standard form. They will also be doing computations with scientific notation. We will be finishing the unit with square roots and cube roots. A quiz over scientific notation will be early next week and the test will be at the end of the week Students will get a study guide before the test.

Students are solving real life percent equations for discount, markdown and simple interest. We will have a quiz Wednesday January 21st.

Students will be multiplying and dividing monomials this week. We have a quiz Thursday over multiplication and division of monomials. Next section will be scientific notation. Expect a quiz late next week.

Students are exploring powers and exponents. This week we will look at writing expressions using exponents and evaluating expressions containing exponents. Then we will work with negative exponents, multiply and divide monomials. Expect a quiz early next week.
